In the beginning…

Since 2009, we’ve been helping independent contractors decrease their tax liabilities. Within a few years, it became clear that tackling taxes for the medical sales industry was our real wheelhouse.

After acknowledging this natural fit, our skillset got more refined and our team started growing. We became intimately familiar with the perks and pain points of the profession, structuring tax returns that matched these realities: the need for year-round communication, claiming every mile driven, hunting for hidden expenses, etc.

Our expansion…

Flash forward to 2014 when our full team started taking shape. Our client base quickly grew 5X, and with this period of expansion came the realization we needed more hands on deck.

From the jump, a flat structure made the most sense to us. It’s been the basis for a mutual trust that helps us work as one, even though we’re all individually specialized.

Pandemic upskilling…

With the pandemic came a new set of client needs. There’s nothing like a global catastrophe to arouse valid tax questions and concerns.

To better serve medical reps during a season of knowns, we navigated SBA grants and loans, new tax credits, and other resources for the self employed.

It’s where our commitment to continuous communication really shined. Instead of reps feeling unsettled and alone, waiting for the one time of year their CPAs were available, we opened the communication lines and handled hardships on their behalf.

Caleb Ellinger

Caleb Ellinger is the founder and CEO of Ellinger Tax Services. He’s obsessed with providing high-value to high-earners in the medical sales industry.

After working at the IRS for nearly a decade, he decided to take his skills to the self-employed. For almost 15 years clients have trusted his professional rigor and appreciated his personal touch.

Based on his work experience and specialized knowledge, the IRS has certified him as an Enrolled Agent, which means Caleb is nationally licensed to interact with the IRS on his clients’ behalf. 

​ Be it a notice or collection effort, he works and communicates with clients year-round to reduce audit risk while also reducing their tax burden.

Andrew Shaw

Andrew ShawSince 2016, Andrew Shaw has been lending his eagle eye to Ellinger Tax Services’ individual, corporate, and partnership clients. When he’s not preparing original and amended tax returns, Andrew is focused on perfecting his photography skills or exploring nature.

Jenera Parks

Jenera ParksJenera Parks has been preparing to-the-penny individual and corporate tax returns at Ellinger Tax Services since 2020. She has eight years of tax specialist experience in tow and has helped numerous clients maximize their returns during times of uncertainty. If Jenera is off the clock, you can probably find her catching up on one of her favorite shows.

Leigh Ann Brune

Leigh Ann BruneIt was 2015 when Leigh Ann first signed on as the bookkeeping manager for Ellinger Tax Services. Since then, she’s supervised and coordinated all the ins and outs of anyone who is smart enough to come to Ellinger for their books. She brings with her 20+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, IRS controversies, and tax preparation. Leigh is very passionate about helping clients with all their bookkeeping needs and making them feel comfortable and confident that they are important and valued – because they are!

Amy Ellinger

Amy Ellinger Amy Ellinger is the co-founder of Ellinger Tax Services. Affectionately known as a “Jill of All Trades”, she has overseen billing, document management, state business returns, and audit cases since 2016. She is also Caleb’s wife of 15 years! In 2022 the couple moved to Richmond, Virginia with their fat, orange cat, P.K. In her off time, the proud native Austinite works as a Photography Crew Chief for South By Southwest. Amy enjoys gardening, playing video games, reading, and volunteering with animal rescue groups.

Sonia Offerman

Sonia Offerman Sonia Offerman has diligently delivered as an Ellinger Tax Services bookkeeper since 2018. She puts her 20 years of experience in bookkeeping to work for every single client, flexing her knowledge of various industries in everything from medical sales to construction. When Sonia isn’t number crunching, she’s most likely enjoying nature, walking, gardening, going to art exhibitions, or going to the opera.

Mariana Vincini

Mariana Vincini Since 2019, Mariana Vincini has worked as a key member of Ellinger Tax Services’ bookkeeping team. In total, she has 20 years of experience as an accountant for both U.S. companies and those in her home country of Argentina.

De Anna Martinez

De Anna Martinez De Anna Martinez joined the Ellinger Tax Services team in 2020. Since then, she has tirelessly delivered superior administrative and billing services, as well as assisted diverse clients in setting up their new companies. She helps maintain good client relationships through regular check-ins to route any concerns or questions to other staff. When she is not working, her passion is spending time with her family as a mother and grandmother.
